Job summary

Jersey Battered Women's Service (JBWS) seeks a Pet Advocacy Specialist for our Passaic County Shelter program to lead vision and execution of JBWS’ pet-inclusive programming. Provide specialized case management and advocacy to domestic violence survivors, their families and pets using a client-centered, trauma informed, strengths-based approach.

Salary range $55–$60K; full-time, 35 hours/week, Monday–Friday with one late shift.

Qualifications

• BSW or related degree with 2 years experience or 4 years in relevant field.
• Experience with pet-inclusive domestic violence services.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized case management and advocacy to survivors and their pets.
• Conduct safety planning and crisis intervention.
• Coordinate shelter admissions for residents and pets.
• Maintain documentation and service notes.
• Participate in supervision and team meetings.
