Job summary

JBWS is seeking a dynamic Pet Advocacy Specialist for our Morris County Shelter program to lead vision and execution of pet-inclusive programming. Provide specialized case management and advocacy to domestic violence survivors, their families and pets using a client-centered, trauma informed, strengths-based approach.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, safety planning for survivors and pets, coordinating referrals, and ensuring pet-friendly services across JBWS programs.

Qualifications

• BSW or related degree; 2 years of experience or 4 years in relevant field.
• Experience or willingness to provide pet-inclusive domestic violence services.
• Knowledge of domestic violence and its impact on families and pets.
• Strong organization and self-motivation; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead vision and execution of JBWS’ pet-inclusive programming.
• Provide specialized case management and advocacy to survivors and their pets.
• Coordinate shelter operations and pet care in a trauma-informed way.
• Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with program procedures.
• Participate in supervision and case review meetings.
