Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated Pest Control Technician to inspect residential properties for infestations, apply approved pest control products, and educate customers on prevention. You will build relationships, schedule appointments, and contribute to expanding services while maintaining equipment and complying with safety regulations.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in various environments around the Los Angeles area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence
• Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations; covered by the company
• Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed
• Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control
• Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Basic math skills for following product-label mixing instructions
• Customer-facing experience preferred
• Clean-shaven face for respirator safety
• Ability to work in tight, confined spaces and around animals, insects, termites, mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals
• Ability to work inside and outside in the local climate
• Ability to regularly sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including an OSHA-compliant respirator
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle on public streets

Responsibilities

• Inspect residential properties for pest infestations, damage, and entry points
• Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps
• Educate customers on pest prevention and reducing future infestation risks
• Build customer relationships and schedule and confirm appointments
• Assist with sales to current customers and expand products to new customers
• Maintain, stock, and verify the condition of pest control equipment
• Comply with local, state, and federal pest-control and safety regulations
• Drive and safely operate a company-provided service vehicle
• Work within customers’ residences, properties, and places of business, often unsupervised
• Handle regulated chemicals, company and customer records, financial quotes and commitments, and company equipment
• Resolve conflicts and disputes in a non-violent and non-disruptive manner
