Job summary

The Plus Group is hiring a Pest Control Technician to inspect homes and businesses, identify pests, and apply safe IPM treatments in compliance with state regulations. The role requires a Branch 2 Applicator license, a valid driver’s license, and 2+ years of termite treatment experience.

Candidates should be fluent in English; Spanish language skills are highly recommended. Physical work, PPE use, and travel within the Tri-Valley area are expected.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pest Control Technician to join our professional pest management team on a direct hire basis. In this role, you will safely inspect residential and commercial properties, identify household pests like ants, spiders, and rodent, and apply safe chemical or Integrated Pest Management treatments in compliance with state regulations.

Duties

• Pest Control Technician inspects buildings, yards, attics, and crawlspaces to locate and identify infestations of general pests (e.g., ants, roaches, spiders, silverfish, and rodents).
• Apply approved pesticides, baits, and rodenticides safely according to state laws and label instructions.
• Utilize Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices, including sanitation and exclusion recommendations, to prevent repeat problems.
• Adhere to the safety protocols when maneuvering in attics, sub-areas, and crawlspaces, using chemicals and wearing the required respirator and protective gear (PPE).
• Explain treatment steps to homeowners or property managers and answer questions regarding safety and post-treatment care.
• Pest Control Technician records and files precise chemical usage amounts, complete daily service reports, digital route documentation.
• Pest Control Technician maintains power-spraying rigs, hand tools, ladders, and company trucks in a clean, working condition.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Branch 2 Applicator or Field Representative license REQUIRED.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to travel in the Tri-Valley.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, crawl, stoop, use ladders/heavy machinery and stand for extended periods of time.
• Capable of wearing a respirator and following strict chemical-handling protocols.
• English fluency in order to communicate with employees and provide customer service to clients.
• Bilingual with Spanish fluency is highly recommended.
• 2+ years of termite treatment experience or related industry experience.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
• Flexibility to work in other pertinent areas of the business if ever necessary.
• Respect for those with various and diverse backgrounds.
• Basic electronic device competency.

Pay Rate: $28-$30\hour DOE
