Job summary

The University of Michigan invites applications for a Social Worker in the Psychiatric Emergency Services unit at the Ann Arbor campus. The role includes evaluating new patients, suicide risk assessment for adults and children, DSM-5 diagnoses, treatment planning, crisis intervention and discharge planning.

You will provide brief individual and family crisis psychotherapy, patient education, and coordinate admissions and care management across internal and external teams to ensure appropriate

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited school.
• Must have current licensure (LLMSW or LMSW) to practice in Michigan.
• Clinical practice concentration and field practicum are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct new patient evaluations including suicide risk assessment for adults and children.
• Provide brief individual and family crisis psychotherapy and patient education.
• Coordinate admissions and outpatient care; verify insurance as appropriate.
• Assist with care management and crisis intervention across internal and external teams.
• Participate in training and orientation for new staff as needed.
