Personalization Architect for video news app (Python)

Watchup brings the power of video journalism to emerging screens. Our Apple-featured iPad app lets you easily watch your daily newscast out of the world's most trusted news channels. Watchup was accelerated at StartX, the Stanford startup accelerator and was the only company to be a finalist at SXSW's Accelerator and Interactive Awards. We actively embrace new technologies as they arrive. For instance, a Google Glass app will be released imminently.

You will be one of the first three technical employees in a small, fast-growing and extremely detail-oriented team. It’s your chance to be an active part of an angel-backed, game-changing startup that is reinventing the way people learn what’s happening in the world on emerging screens. You will be joining a small company in the most exciting days of the startup journey.

Your goal is to maintain and develop a Python-based platform that supports Watchup's news video apps.

• Help improve Watchup's personalization algorithm with machine learning and NLP techniques.
• Scale for growing client volume.
• Implement major new features based on proprietary and/or patent-pending technology or interfaces, including new social features.

Requirements

• 1-5 year experience as a Python developer.
• Available full time and preferably located in Menlo Park, CA (remote fully staffed allowed).
