Job summary

YMCA Fairfax County Reston is hiring a Personal Wellness Trainer to guide members on their wellness journey by listening to goals, creating personalized exercise plans, and encouraging progress through sustainable habits.

You will conduct wellness assessments, design safe workout programs, track progress, and build lasting client relationships while promoting safety and inclusivity within the center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Nationally recognized personal training certification.
• YMCA Fitness Specialist, ACSM certification or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of personal training experience.
• Knowledge of strength equipment and safe exercise practices.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help people succeed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wellness assessments and help members set meaningful goals.
• Design safe, personalized exercise programs.
• Track member progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Build relationships to motivate members.
• Develop a client base for personal wellness training.
• Promote safe use of wellness equipment and YMCA safety standards.
• Maintain required certifications and pursue ongoing training.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all members.
