Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a part-time Personal Trainer at the NB YMCA Wellness Center in New Berlin, WI. You will develop individualized training programs, conduct private and small-group sessions, and ensure client safety and goal achievement.

Under the direction of the Fitness and Wellness Director, you will promote programs, maintain client records, and help drive member satisfaction and retention. A current PT certification and CPR/AED are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and people skills.
• A degree or background in kinesiology, exercise science, health and human performance, exercise physiology, or related field is preferred.
• Current nationally accredited Personal Training certification is required upon hire.
• Current CPR/AED certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Creates a welcoming atmosphere for all members which results in relationship building and increased personal training enrollments and member retention.
• Instructs members on safe and effective exercise techniques, including warm-up and stretching, aerobic conditioning, strength training, proper equipment use, and workout progression.
• Provides encouragement and expertise to support clients' health and well-being goals.
• Schedules and conducts appointments according to clients' availability.
• Administers, tracks and evaluates health history questionnaires, fitness assessments and other documentation with regard to individual exercise programs.
• Promotes and sells personal training programs and services while achieving monthly revenue and session goals.
• Communicates effectively via emails and other forms of communication from supervisors and coworkers.
• Demonstrates ability to work with all age groups and fitness levels.
• Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures; reports incidents and accident reports as necessary.
• Demonstrates the ability to stand and be mobile for majority of work shift.
• Acts as a positive role model using the YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility.
