Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Personal Trainer- Institutional Student Worker, on the Dahlonega Campus. Personal Trainers are responsible for providing personalized workouts to varying age and skill range, for participants in individual and group training sessions. Campus Recreation and Wellness offers a healthy and friendly work environment that is able to accommodate student schedules. A chosen candidate will be a knowledgeable, energetic student interested in promoting fitness on campus.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized workouts to varying age and skill range, for participants in individual and group training sessions.
  • Maintain CRW equipment, rooms, and storage areas.
  • Wear Campus Recreation and Wellness attire and a name tag while on duty or representing the department at events.
  • Implement university and recreation facility rules and procedures.
  • Assist with special events, as requested by supervisor.
  • Attend all required trainings.
  • Respond to emergencies following the CRW Emergency Action Plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • The ideal candidate should have an interest in health and fitness, a passion to help others in their health and fitness journey, and the ability to relate to students and staff, as well as the following:
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and to be able to communicate effectively with their peers, University employees and possibly, community agencies.
  • Ability to teach at a variety of times in conjunction with client schedules.
  • Ability to conduct safe and effective training sessions.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Must be in good academic standing (2.5 GPA).
  • Must have or obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 1 month of hire.
  • Must have current nationally recognized Personal Training Certification
