Job summary

YMCA of Greater Kansas City is seeking certified personal trainers who want more than just counting reps. You will build relationships with members seeking encouragement, accountability, and lasting results.

This part-time role offers growth as you develop clients, with hours increasing as your client base grows, including at least one evening per week. A free YMCA Adult Membership, flexible scheduling, and support for certifications are offered.

Qualifications

• Current nationally accredited personal training certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA).
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• 18 years of age or older.
• A genuine passion for helping people of all fitness levels reach their goals.
• Strong communication skills and a warm, encouraging coaching style.
• Reliable, professional and a true team player.

Responsibilities

• Lead one-on-one and small group training sessions tailored to each client's goals and abilities.
• Design personalized fitness plans and adjust them as clients progress.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with members that keeps them coming back.
• Ensure a safe workout environment by following YMCA and certification guidelines.
• Maintain accurate session records and client progress notes.
• Collaborate with fellow associates to create a welcoming, supportive wellness area.
• Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or incidents to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
