Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Kansas City is seeking a certified personal trainer for a part-time position. You will lead individual and small-group sessions, design customized fitness plans, and build lasting relationships with members in a welcoming wellness area.

Eligibility includes national PT certification (ACE/NASM/ACSM/NSCA), CPR/First Aid (cost covered by us), and a passion for helping clients reach their goals. On-site role with flexible scheduling and team support.

Qualifications

• Current nationally accredited personal training certification (ACE/NASM/ACSM/NSCA)
• CPR/First Aid certification current or willingness to obtain — we cover the cost
• 18 years of age or older
• Genuine passion for helping people of all fitness levels reach their goals
• Strong communication skills and a warm, encouraging coaching style
• Reliable, professional, and a true team player

Responsibilities

• Lead one‑on‑one and small group training sessions tailored to each client's goals and abilities
• Design personalized fitness plans and adjust them as clients progress
• Build strong, trusting relationships with members that keeps them coming back
• Ensure a safe workout environment by following YMCA and certification guidelines
• Maintain accurate session records and client progress notes
• Collaborate with fellow associates to create a welcoming, supportive wellness area
• Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or incidents to the appropriate supervisor promptly
