Job summary

The Maplewood YMCA Community Center is seeking certified Personal Trainers to help members achieve their health and wellness goals. This part-time role offers a flexible schedule, access to an established membership base, and opportunities to grow your client roster.

This position provides paid session prep time, ongoing professional development, and a competitive hourly rate, with a meaningful impact through personalized coaching.

Qualifications

• NCCA-accredited personal training certification (NASM-CPT, ACSM-CPT or equivalent) required.
• CPR/PR and AED certifications must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead individuals and groups to health goals.
• Ability to work with all ages and fitness levels.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergencies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health/Exercise Science preferred.
• 1 year experience in health and fitness and in personal/group training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and instruct personal training sessions for individuals and groups.
• Administer health history questionnaires and fitness assessments.
• Adhere to safety and training policies and report incidents.
• Promote and sell personal training programs to reach revenue goals.
• Maintain required certifications.
• Follow Fitness Floor expectations when not scheduled for training.
