Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Kansas City is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor who believes fitness is about more than calories. You will lead welcoming and energizing group classes, adapt content, and build relationships with members to support progress and a sense of community.

You must hold CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, complete an audition with the director, and maintain current certifications. This role supports community wellness at the local YMCA locations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Complete and pass audition with director.
• Able to relate to people on all levels in a friendly and consistent manner.

Responsibilities

• Plans and leads group fitness classes that are safe, welcoming, and energizing for participants of all fitness levels.
• Adapts class content to meet varied health, ability, and cultural needs of every member in the room.
• Builds genuine relationships with members and provides encouragement as needed.
• Stays current on fitness trends and wellness best practices to deliver informed instruction.
• Maintains accurate class attendance records and communicates goals with the Healthy Living Director.
