Job summary

The Bettendorf Family YMCA in Bettendorf, IA is seeking a Personal Trainer to design and deliver safe, effective fitness programs for members and program participants. You will conduct assessments and tailor workouts to individual goals while guiding proper technique.

Because certification and CPR/First Aid are required before hire, candidates should be prepared to demonstrate strong communication, empathy and a client‑centered approach in a dynamic YMCA setting.

Qualifications

• Must obtain or possess a Personal Training Certification from a nationally recognized organization (AFAA, ACE, NSCA, NASM or ACSM).
• CPR/AED/First Aid certifications required prior to hire.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 45 pounds and instruct proper form to prevent injury.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse members.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality exercise prescriptions tailored to members and participants.
• Conduct fitness assessments to determine current fitness levels and goals.
