Job summary

Orion Placement in New York is seeking a senior leader to run the pre-litigation department of a New York personal injury firm. You will supervise a team of paralegals and case managers, manage intake through settlement, and work with firm leadership to improve outcomes.

The ideal candidate is admitted to the New York State Bar, has 5+ years of plaintiff-side PI experience, and can drive settlement negotiations and No-Fault processes.

Qualifications

• Active New York State Bar admission in good standing.
• 5+ years of New York plaintiff-side personal injury experience.
• Experience supervising paralegals, case managers, or attorneys in a personal injury law firm.
• Strong knowledge of New York No-Fault insurance, bodily injury claims, and personal injury settlement negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Lead our pre-litigation department, supervising and mentoring a team of case managers and paralegals.
• Oversee personal injury claims from initial intake through settlement or transfer to litigation.
• Evaluate liability, damages, insurance coverage, and settlement opportunities in motor vehicle and premises liability cases.
• Negotiate bodily injury settlements directly with insurance carriers and adjusters.
• Oversee New York No-Fault claims, medical documentation, settlement demands, and lien resolution.
• Monitor case deadlines, workflow efficiency, settlement performance, and department productivity.
• Train and develop team members while improving case management processes and overall results.
• Collaborate with litigation attorneys and firm leadership to ensure seamless case transitions and exceptional client service.
