Summary

An established plaintiff-side personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney with a strong background in Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA) and General Liability litigation.

This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of personal injury litigation experience and be able to independently manage an active caseload from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury matters
• Handle motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, general negligence, and other general liability matters
• Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and settlement value
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Handle court appearances, conferences, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel
• Review medical records and work with medical providers and experts
• Prepare cases for trial and collaborate with litigation and trial teams
• Maintain consistent communication with clients
• Track deadlines and ensure cases continue progressing toward resolution

Qualifications

• 5+ years of personal injury litigation experience
• New York Bar admission and good standing
• Significant experience handling MVA and General Liability cases
• Plaintiff-side personal injury experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of New York personal injury law and civil litigation procedure
• Experience conducting depositions and appearing in New York courts
• Strong negotiation and case-evaluation skills
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload
• Highly organized, proactive, and deadline-driven
• Trial experience is a plus
