Confidential Employer in Durham, NC seeks an attorney with personal injury experience to manage cases from development through settlement and trial preparation. Hybrid work arrangement and collaboration with senior attorneys offer opportunities to own matters and advance litigation skills.

Ideal candidates hold a JD, active NC license, and strong research/writing/negotiation abilities. Plaintiff-side experience is preferred, with support for a growing practice and client-focused service.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of personal injury experience required.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active attorney license in good standing with the ability to practice in North Carolina.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and case management skills.
• Litigation experience involving discovery, depositions, mediation, or trial preparation is highly valued.
• Plaintiff-side personal injury experience is strongly preferred.
• Solo practitioners with directly relevant personal injury experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage personal injury matters from initial case development through settlement, litigation, and resolution.
• Investigate claims, analyze medical records and damages, and develop effective case strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and prepare for depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.
• Prepare clients, witnesses, exhibits, and case materials for mediation and trial.
• Maintain proactive, compassionate communication with clients throughout their matters.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to move cases efficiently toward strong outcomes.
