Position Overview

Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. Primary responsibilities include full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and families, including one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals. Work closely with installation and branch points of contact to meet installation needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Conduct one‑on‑one counseling, consult with commanders or staff, conduct briefings, and perform presentations.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
• Coordinate, publicize, and provide workshops on a wide variety of personal financial management topics across the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or electronic modes of communication such as web‑based, secure online chat, or video‑based communications.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision, sharing trends and issues on the installations assigned.
• Participate in in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered).
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen, fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required.
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Salary

Base salary ranges from $58,440 to $93,500, based on national data. Pay may vary by location and is adjusted based on skills, experience, and education.
