Overview

Position provides coverage in short‑term, surge, and on‑demand personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive financial counseling – one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals.
• Assist service members with spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
• Coordinate and publicize Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering throughout the military lifecycle (post‑deployment, career events, etc.).
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate seminars or classes.
• Provide virtual counseling via secure online chat or video‑based communications as authorized.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations in accordance with DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership, participate in supervision, and share trends and issues.
• Engage in quality‑improvement committees, training, and other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree + 4 years experience or high‑school diploma + 6 years experience may be considered).
• Minimum 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual Spanish may be required by contract.
• Ability to obtain a Tier 2 investigation clearance.
• Completion of the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest.
• Certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Salary & Benefits

Base salary range: $58,440 – $93,500, based on national data and may vary by location and individual qualifications. Eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package covering health, life, voluntary benefits, and additional perks.
