Job summary

Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS) through Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE seeks a dedicated Personal Caregiver/PCA in Montrose, CO. The role supports frail elders at home and in Day Center settings, providing essential daily living assistance and compassionate care.

The position is full-time with 80 hours per pay period; travel to participant homes is required and must be at least 21. Compensation ranges from $18.50 to $22.50 per hour, with benefits including insurance,

Qualifications

• One year of experience working with the frail or elderly population required.
• Active CPR/First Aid Certification required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and means of transportation; must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with non-skilled activities of daily living (ADL’s) in the home and Day Center, including bathing, dressing, grooming, mouth care, eating, and toileting as needed.
• Assist with non-skilled restorative and supportive care in the home and Day Center, including ambulating, positioning, transferring, skin care, and personal care.
• Assist with IADL’s such as grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and other routine household care.
• Support participant activities in the Day Center, including meal service and clean-up.
• Perform other duties as required or requested.

Skills

Pay: $18.50 - $22.50 per hour, based on previous work experience.

Schedules: Fulltime, 80 hours per pay period. Days and shift vary on care needs. Occasional weekends are required.

What You Bring (Requirements)

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• A minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population required.
• Active CPR/First Aid Certification
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation. *Must be at least 21 years of age.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Assist participants with non-skilled activities of daily living (ADL’s) in the home and in the Day Center including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, mouth care, eating, hand and foot nail care and toileting as assigned or needed.
• Assists participants with non-skilled restorative and supportive care in the home and in the Day Center including ambulating, positioning, transferring, skin care, personal care, etc. as assigned or needed.
• Assists participants with Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADL’s) including, but not limited to, grocery shopping, cleaning, changing bed linens, laundry, meal preparation and other routine household care as assigned.
• Assists with participant activities in the Day Center, including meal service and clean-up.
• Performs other duties as required or requested.
