Job summary

Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE, a part of Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS), seeks a Van Driver in Montrose, CO. The role focuses on safe, timely transport of program participants to medical appointments and activities, with a schedule Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:30pm and occasional weekend shifts.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Colorado driver’s license, and at least one year of experience with the frail and elderly.

  • Able to read and understand maps and routing information.

Responsibilities

  • Transport SCC participants to and from medical appointments and activities as scheduled.
  • Transport meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy items as needed.
  • Ensure participant safety and satisfaction during transport.
  • Communicate schedule changes to dispatch and transportation manager.

Pay Range: $19.50 - $23.50 per hour, based on previous work experience.

Schedules: Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:30pm with occasional weekends.

What You Bring (Requirements)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Valid Driver’s License in state of Colorado.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.
  • Have a minimum of one year experience in working with the frail and elderly population.
  • Able to read and understand maps and routing information.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements pertaining to the transportation industry.
What You’ll Be Responsible For

The Van Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of Senior Community Care (SCC) participants and communicating any safety issue to the Transportation Manager.

  • Transports participants to and from medical/specialist appointments, and activity outings, as requested by the Interdisciplinary Team via the plan of care.
  • Transports meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, and any other items as deemed necessary for participant.
  • Responsible for Senior Community Care passengers during transport, providing care in a manner which ensures participant satisfaction.
  • Follows assigned schedule, makes adjustments to meet unanticipated changes, while considering the needs of the participant and requirements of the PACE Center. Communicates these changes to dispatch.

As a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) provider and the first of its kind in Western Colorado, our interdisciplinary teams deliver personalized, comprehensive care tailored to each participant’s needs.
