Job Summary

Provides direct resident care, completes assignments as a universal worker, assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for residents, and upholds Prestige’s core values of respect, integrity, commitment, and trust.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct resident care while promoting dignity, independence, and choice; observes residents’ physical and mental conditions; reports changes to the appropriate staff.
• Assists with or performs ADLs, takes vital signs and weights, documents care and observations, and reports incidents immediately.
• Assists residents to and from dining and activities.
• Performs First Aid and initiates emergency procedures as needed.
• Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously; answers phones when assigned.
• Supports fire safety and infection control practices; reports unsafe conditions.
• Serves meals, assists residents during meals, delivers trays, and helps with dining area and kitchen cleanup.
• Assists with tours, move-ins, move-outs, transfers, and coordinates personal care with co-workers, assisting with lifting and responding promptly to assistance calls.
• Helps with apartment housekeeping and resident laundry.
• Attends training, in-services, and staff meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must complete and pass competency evaluation within 120 days; required training includes Fundamentals of Care, Dementia Care, First Aid, CPR, and HIV, unless prior documentation is provided. Must perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred; one or more years of personal care experience with older adults is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current First Aid and CPR certifications; Food Handlers permit if required by state.
