Job summary

Rimland Services NFP is hiring Personal Care Attendants/DSPs to provide hands-on support to individuals with developmental disabilities in Des Plaines, IL. The role focuses on daily activities, goal work, and maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Full-time positions include benefits after probation, with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Applicants must meet background checks, residency requirements, and provide verification documents and references.

Qualifications

• Background in personal care or caregiving preferred.
• Ability to follow schedules and maintain records.
• Comfort with activities of daily living and mobility support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain individual lockers with change of clothes and season-appropriate items.
• Follow toileting schedule and track outcomes.
• Assist with changing clothes when soiled and with showering.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of bathrooms.
• Notify supervisor when supplies are needed (towels, shampoo, diapers, etc.).

About the Position

We are hiring Personal Care Attendants/DSP's who are professional, energetic, and nurturing. You will provide hands‑on support to individuals as they work on daily activities and long‑term goals. Job functions specifically performed by the Personal Care Assistant include the following:

• Maintain individual lockers that include a change of clothing,undergarmentsand a change of socks. Ensure that clothing in the lockers is appropriate for the current season.
• Follow the toileting schedule for each individual and tracking individual toileting outcomes in Therap.
• Assist with changing individuals clothing when soiled.
• Assist with showering individuals.
• Ensurethe cleanliness and organization of the individual bathroom facilities.
• Inform supervisor when supplies are needed (i.e. towels, shampoo, diapers etc.)

Location & Schedule

Note: Your shift will not vary and you must be able to work the entire shift, every week

Location: Des Plaines, IL

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30AM – 4:00PM
