Job summary

Rimland is seeking attentive Personal Care Attendants/DSPs to provide hands-on support to adults with developmental disabilities in Des Plaines, IL. You will assist with daily activities, showers, wardrobe changes, and maintaining personal spaces, while documenting care plans in Therap.

This is a full-time daytime role with a stable schedule. Qualified candidates will have a caring, energetic, professional approach and commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in direct care and activities of daily living.
• Ability to follow instructions and schedules.
• Willingness to work with adults with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain individual lockers with clothing and seasonal wear.
• Follow toileting schedule and record outcomes in Therap.
• Assist with changing clothing and showering.
• Wash individual’s laundry and keep bathrooms clean.
• Inform supervisor when supplies are needed.

About the Position

We are hiring Personal Care Attendants/DSP's who are professional, energetic, and nurturing. You will provide hands on support to individuals as they work on daily activities and long‑term goals.

Job functions specifically performed by the Personal Care Assistant include the following:

• Maintain individual lockers that include a change of clothing, undergarments and a change of socks. Ensure that clothing in the lockers is appropriate for the current season.
• Follow the toileting schedule for each individual and tracking individual toileting outcomes in Therap.
• Assist with changing individuals clothing when soiled.
• Assist with showering individuals.
• Wash individual's laundry.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the individual bathroom facilities.
• Inform supervisor when supplies are needed (i.e. towels, shampoo, diapers etc.)

Location & Schedule

Note: Your shift will not vary and you must be able to work the entire shift, every week

Location: Des Plaines, IL

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30AM – 4:00PM

Pass:

• A fingerprint criminal background check
• A child abuse and neglect check
• A drug screen.

Provide:

• Residency for the past 1 years
• Current & original documents that verify your identity & ability to legally work in the United States
• Two verifiable employment references within the last 3 years
