Job summary

MGA Homecare is seeking a Personal Care Attendant to support in-home health services in Colorado. You will assist clients with personal care, mobility, and daily activities in their homes, following the plan of care and maintaining HIPAA-compliant confidentiality.

Requirements include reading care plans, effective communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Valid Colorado driver's license or reliable transportation is required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, care plans, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, families, and Agency staff.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of job responsibilities.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and improvise in an unstructured home setting.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, clients, and supervisors.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Possession of a valid Colorado Driver's License with applicable car insurance, or reliable transportation to all accepted assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the client with personal care as assigned by the plan of care, including bathing, hair/skin/mouth care, toileting, dressing, transferring, and ambulation.
  • Assist with mobility, positioning, and transfers in a safe manner.
  • Recognize and respond to changes in the client's condition and report concerns promptly.
  • Provide services when scheduled and communicate schedule changes promptly.
  • Complete responsibilities in a timely, safe, and professional manner.
  • Participate in client case conferences according to Agency policy and procedures.
  • Document activities performed in the client's home at the time of the visit.
  • Document client concerns and difficulties and report them to the supervisor or manager.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Represent the Agency professionally and adhere to all policies; maintain client confidentiality.

Duties and Responsibilities
Personal Care
  • Assiststhe client with or provides personal care as assigned by the plan of care, including bathing, care of hair, skin, and mouth, toileting, dressing, transferring, and ambulation.
  • Assistswith mobility, positioning, and transfers in a safe manner that protects both the client and the employee.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to changes in the client's condition, reporting concerns promptly to the supervisor or manager.
Service Delivery & Scheduling
  • Provides services when scheduled and communicates promptly to the Agency and clientregardingany schedule changes.
  • Accomplishes job responsibilities ina timely, safe, and professional manner.
  • Participates in client case conferences according to Agency policy and procedures.
Documentation & Communication
  • Documentsactivities performed in the client's home at the time of the visit.
  • Documents client concerns and difficulties and reports the same to the supervisor or manager.
  • Completes andsubmitsall required paperwork accurately and on time.
Compliance & Professional Standards
  • Representsthe Agency in a professional manner and dresses appropriately for job duties.
  • Maintains client confidentialityin accordance withHIPAA and Agency policy.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook, Employee Agreement, or as communicated by the executive team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required

  • Verifiable work experience as a Personal Care Attendant or Personal Care Provider
  • Prior experience in a home health care or IHSS setting
  • Familiarity with Medicaid programs and IHSS services
