Job Overview
Duties and Responsibilities
Housekeeping
- Performs light housekeeping duties sufficient to keep the client safe in the home, including making and changing the bed, cleaning the bathroom, and cleaning the kitchen area.
- Performs the client’s personal laundry as assigned by the plan of care.
- Identifiesandreportshousehold safety hazards to the supervisor or manager.
Meal Preparation & Errands
- Prepares and serves mealsin accordance withthe client’s plan of care and any dietary needs.
- Completes shopping and errands on behalf of the client as authorized by the plan of care.
Service Delivery & Scheduling
- Provides services when scheduled and communicates promptly to the Agency and clientregardingany schedule changes.
- Accomplishes job responsibilities ina timely, safe, and professional manner.
- Participates in client case conferences according to Agency policy and procedures.
Documentation & Communication
- Documentsactivities performed in the client’s home at the time of the visit.
- Documents client concerns and difficulties and reports the same to the supervisor or manager.
- Completes andsubmitsall required paperwork accurately and on time.
Compliance & Professional Standards
- Representsthe Agency in a professional manner and dresses appropriately for job duties.
- Maintains client confidentialityin accordance withHIPAA and Agency policy.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook, Employee Agreement, or as communicated by the executive team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and care instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, families, and Agency staff
- Ability tomaintaina high levelof confidentiality in all aspects of job responsibilities
- Ability to solve practical problems and improvise in an unstructured home setting
- Ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, clients, and supervisors
- Ability tofrequentlylift and/or move up to 50 pounds and to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, reaching, and stooping
- Possession of a valid Colorado Driver’s License with applicable car insurance, or reliable transportation to all accepted assignments
Preferred
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Verifiable work experience providing homemaking or housekeeping services
- Prior experience in a home health care or IHSS setting
- Familiarity with Medicaid programs and IHSS services
