Job summary

Right at Home Cleveland West is seeking caregivers who provide compassionate companionship and practical care in clients' homes across the Western Suburbs area. You will support mobility, daily living activities, nutrition, and transportation as needed.

We value reliable, caring individuals who can adapt to client schedules and needs while promoting safety and independence in a supportive community setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience as a Personal Care Assistant.
• State-approved Nurse Aide or Personal Care Assistant course completed.
• Current CPR certificate recommended.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and insured automobile.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship to clients.
• Assist clients with ambulation.
• Prevent client falls through safety and supervision.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Prepare/cook meals for clients.
• Drive clients to appointments or errands.
• Light housekeeping.
• Help meet nutritional standards.

Caregiver Responsibilities Include :

• Provide companionship to clients
• Assist clients with ambulation
• Prevent client falls through safety and supervision
• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Prep/cook meals for clients
• Drive clients to doctor's appointments/ errands/ activities
• Light housekeeping
• Help client meet nutritional standards
• Performs homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms.

Qualifications

1. High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate.
2. Six months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in healthcare (in homes or facilities).
3. Successful completion of state-approved Nurse Aide or Personal Care Assistant course.
4. Current CPR Certificate is recommended.
5. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
6. Possess a valid driver’s license and have use of an insured automobile.
