Job summary

Five Star Bank in Rochester, NY is seeking a Sales & Service Associate who will blend trusted advisory service with everyday banking tasks. You’ll process deposits and withdrawals, open personal and small business accounts, and promote digital tools like online banking and ITMs.

We look for a high school diploma and at least two years in a customer-facing role. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and comfort with technology, plus occasional branch travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in banking, retail, hospitality, or sales.
• Confidence balancing service and sales responsibilities with a customer-first approach.
• Excellent communication skills with a consultative mindset.
• Comfort using digital tools and helping others navigate technology.
• A team player who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Process deposits, withdrawals, payments, and account service requests with professionalism and accuracy.
• Engage customers to understand financial goals and recommend solutions.
• Assist with opening personal and small business accounts and lending applications.
• Educate customers on self-service and digital banking channels including online banking, mobile apps, and ITMs.
• Represent Five Star Bank at local events and branch outreach.
• Refer complex needs to Relationship Bankers or other partners.
• Follow regulatory requirements, bank policies, and training.
• Support secure cash handling, audit readiness, and general branch operations.
