Job summary

Carter Bankshares is seeking a Financial Services Representative in Hillsville, VA to be the first point of contact for customers. You will handle transactions, open accounts, and guide clients through financial options with a proactive, personalized touch.

You will build relationships to improve customers' financial well-being, refer referrals to partners, and support branch operations while meeting sales goals. Training and events support growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college a plus.
• Successful customer service and/or sales experience required.
• Previous experience in a retail bank or related industry preferred.
• Prior cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides a range of customer services including transaction processing, account servicing, opening new accounts and products, and referring to partners.
• Delivers exceptional customer experience through proactive engagement and meaningful conversation to earn trust.
• Identifies basic customer needs and generates referrals to branch associates and partners.
• Resolves basic account/customer issues using bank resources and escalates complex cases as needed.
• Follows established processes and guidelines to ensure efficient branch operation and compliance.
• Supports the bank's strategic plan to grow retail banking business.
• Meets or exceeds sales goals through targeted activities and needs-based recommendations.
• Invests in career development through training, coaching, and learning opportunities.
• Participates in bank-sponsored events to increase visibility and acquire new customers.
