Job summary

First Community Bancshares, Inc. is seeking a front-line Teller who provides exceptional customer service in a high-volume bank environment in Texas. You will handle cash, assist customers with deposits and withdrawals, and promote bank products and services.

The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to work well with diverse customers, including Spanish speakers. Background checks will be conducted as part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma, high school equivalency or currently attending high school.
• Six months of work experience in a retail or customer service environment preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must successfully pass background investigation according to company policy.
• Must be able to get along with co-workers and work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service, handling cash receipts and payments in a high volume sales environment.
• Evaluate customer relationships and recommend bank products and services.
• Follow established policies per bank and supervisor direction.
• Aim for monthly new account production as assigned by management.
• Participate in in-store prospecting within a sales environment.
• Process deposits and pay out funds; balance each day’s operations.
• Receive cash and checks for deposit, verify amounts and endorsements.
• Examine cash to guard against counterfeit checks and IDs.
• Enter transactions into computer and issue receipts.
• Sell and prepare money orders, cashier’s checks, wires, and CDs.
• Process Western Union wires and cash advances.
• Cross-sell bank services to a diverse customer base, including Spanish-speaking customers.
• Perform other tasks as requested by supervisors.
