Job summary

WaFd Bank in New Mexico seeks a Personal Banker to win new business, deepen deposits and loan relationships, and deliver exceptional customer service. The role blends sales with service, supports branch operations, and guides clients toward financial goals using consultative conversations and WaFd systems.

As part of the requirements, the banker works toward foundational certifications, supports professional development, and helps open accounts, refer loans, and onboard clients while engaging

Qualifications

• High school diploma or approved equivalent.
• Business related college classes or degree preferred.
• Good math skills, 10-key and keyboarding, standard Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Teams, PowerBI and Outlook.
• In addition, smart phone and digital channel skills are well developed. Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills and superior written and oral communication skills.
• Must have satisfactory transportation.

Responsibilities

• Build skills toward a solid knowledge base of bank products and services to maintain rapport with clients, understand needs, and provide solutions.
• Assist clients with banking needs; open accounts, discuss or originate loans, and onboard new clients.
• Make out-of-office calls and visits to businesses, community organizations, and referral sources; promote digital/self-service options.
• Contribute to strategies to expand small business and consumer client base.
• Communicate clearly with staff and clients via phone, in person or video.
• Develop skills and certifications to support branch performance goals.
• Ensure high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
• Reflect WaFd Bank values: integrity, teamwork, ownership, simplicity, discipline, service.
