Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy Heartland in Saint Louis, MO is seeking compassionate Personal Assistants (Direct Care Providers) for 16-hour weekly shifts Fri 3PM-11PM and Sat 3PM-11PM.

The role involves assisting with daily tasks, personal care, ADLs and mobility, following medical orders, and documenting care. A GED, clean driving record and reliable transportation are required; training Monday-Friday at corporate office will be paid.

(THIS IS A SET 16 Hour Weekly SCHEDULE)

As a PERSONAL ASSISTNAT/DSP (Direct Care Provider)you will perform the following responsibilities:

Provide physical assistance with daily tasks, assist with personal hygiene and facilitate fun activities.

Follow medical orders and administer medications.

Assist with ADL's, Lift and Transfer (includes ceiling lifts, repositioning in wheelchair, etc), Adaptive Transportation.

Shift documentation using Set-Works and general housekeeping.

Will interact with family often. Please have a fun, outgoing and positive personality.

Most importantly,provide choices to the clients for their daily activities to provide entertainment and community outings

MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or its equivalent (GED).
• Clean Driving Record and successfully completes and maintains assigned drivers training
• A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEKEND SHIFT PER WEEKEND
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a customer service field
• Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to consistently work in a professional, cooperative manner with all Agency clients and personnel.
• Good written and oral communication skills

THIS POSITION DOES REQUIRE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION, VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH CLEAN DRIVING RECORD!

THIS POSITION REQUIRES 5-7 DAYS OF MANDATORY TRAINING AT OUR CORPORATE OFFICE Monday through Friday 8:45 AM - 4:15 PM
