Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy Heartland is seeking a Personal Assistant/Direct Support Professional for Fri and Sat evenings (4 PM–10 PM), 12 hours per week. The role provides personal assistance, daily living support, and activities facilitation in Saint Louis, MO.

Training and ongoing support are available to ensure quality care. The position requires weekend availability, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work with individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Weekend shifts are required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a customer service field is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical assistance with daily tasks and personal hygiene.
• Facilitate activities and assist with ADLs and transfers as needed.
• Follow medical orders and administer medications per plan.
• Document shift activities using Set-Works and maintain housekeeping.
• Interact with families in a positive, engaging manner, offering daily activity options.

(THIS IS A SET 12 Hour Weekly SCHEDULE)

As a PERSONAL ASSISTANT/DSP (Direct Care Provider) you will perform the following responsibilities:

Provide physical assistance with daily tasks, assist with personal hygiene and facilitate fun activities.

Follow medical orders and administer medications.

Assist with ADL's, Lift and Transfer (includes ceiling lifts, repositioning in wheelchair, etc), Adaptive Transportation.

Shift documentation using Set-Works and general housekeeping.

Will interact with family often. Please have a fun, outgoing and positive personality.

Most importantly,provide choices to the clients for their daily activities to provide entertainment and community outings

MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or its equivalent (GED).
• Clean Driving Record and successfully completes and maintains assigned drivers training
• A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEKEND SHIFT PER WEEKEND
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a customer service field
• Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to consistently work in a professional, cooperative manner with all Agency clients and personnel.
• Good written and oral communication skills

THIS POSITION DOES REQUIRE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION, VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH CLEAN DRIVING RECORD!

THIS POSITION REQUIRES 5-7 DAYS OF MANDATORY TRAINING AT OUR CORPORATE OFFICE Monday through Friday 8:45 AM - 4:15 PM
