The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Program Security Specialist to join our PERSEC team in Laurel, MD. The role focuses on supporting collateral, SAP, and SCI programs and coordinating with PSRs and SSRs to manage security portfolios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in security, IT, business, or equivalent.
• Experience with DoD manuals and intelligence directives (ICDs, NISPOM).
• Excellent customer service, speaking, and writing skills.
• Ability to work in teams and matrix environments.
• Strong knowledge of DISS/NBIS databases.
• Eligible for U.S. citizenship and able to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Provide PERSEC expertise and support for PSRs and SSRs within the Program Security Group (ZPP).
• Analyze and validate program nomination/access documentation for timely submission to government agencies.
• Develop and manage electronic PERSEC portfolios.
• Liaise with senior management, program/project managers, and staff as needed.
• Manage the Annual Security Refresher (ASR) Training for cleared staff, including creation and tracking of security information.
• Create and disseminate security incident reports to applicable security staff.
• Develop and maintain tracking mechanisms for cleared staff Continuous Evaluation status.
• Provide PERSEC oversight during sponsor compliance inspections.
• Maintain cleared staff PERSEC records via multiple electronic repositories (e.g., Service Now, SIMS, JADE, etc.).
• Exercise analytical, organizational, and relationship-management skills.
