Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, MD is seeking an Information System Security Manager who will lead SSP development and accreditation for classified systems, ensuring compliance with government and APL regulations while supporting program needs.

The role collaborates with the CISO and Classified IT Compliance to implement the Laboratory's security program, handle inspections, and manage risk decisions to enable national security missions.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience and a current CASP+, CISSP, CISSP Associate, CAP, or GSLC certification.
• 5+ years working with RMF, DAAPM, NISPOM, JSIG or other equivalent security frameworks.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Active Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop SSPs and manage accreditation/re-accreditation.
• Function as lead contact for IS security inspections, tests, and reviews by oversight authorities.
• Support the CISO and Chief of Classified IT Compliance in carrying out the Laboratory's Classified Information Security Program.
• Ensure classified systems follow government and APL regulations while meeting program demands.
