Job summary

La La Land Cafe is seeking a Permitting Manager to own entitlements and the full permitting process for new cafe locations. You will bridge Construction, Architecture, and Engineering to move plan submittals through review and keep openings on schedule.

As the company scales toward 100+ locations across multiple states, you will build standardized permitting processes, manage jurisdiction relationships, and maintain a centralized tracking system to enable rapid, repeatable growth.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of municipal, county, and state permitting processes across multiple states.
• Strong ability to track and prioritize a high volume of concurrent projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with officials, reviewers, and leadership.
• Proactive follow-up and escalation to avoid bottlenecks.
• Experience managing third-party permit expeditors and coordinating payments.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth, multi-unit environment.
• Proficiency with project tracking tools (Smartsheet, Excel, Asana) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, submit, administer, and close out permit applications for new cafe projects.
• Track permits against timelines and flag delays before impacting construction schedules.
• Manage permit fees including forecasting, approvals, and vendor payments.
• Oversee permit closeout activities to support project milestones and audits.
• Lead relationships with municipalities and jurisdictional offices across states.
