Job summary

The Florida Department of Transportation is seeking a Permits Coordinator II for the Midway Operations Center in Midway, FL. This role performs technical reviews of engineering documents for the department’s permit program and related agreements, coordinating with engineers, utilities, and local officials to ensure timely processing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of infrastructure design/construction/maintenance experience; or an Associate’s Degree.
• Valid Class E driver’s license required.
• Advanced Temporary Traffic Control (Maintenance of Traffic) certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical review of engineering documents for the permit program and related agreements.
• Review and process applications and engineering drawings for permits, Construction Agreements and related CA/CAFA agreements.
• Provide information to applicants and assist them through the permitting process; meet with public officials and private sector to advise on permitting.
• Coordinate technical reviews with subject matter experts on access management, drainage connections, and signalization to ensure code compliance.
• Perform field review of permit site conditions during permitting and construction with permittees and officials.
• Track five-year work program for the permitted area and maintain accurate permit records; ensure on-time reviews and objectives.
• Coordinate utility operations to minimize delays; attend preconstruction utility conferences and on-site meetings for relocations and conflicts.
