Springville's Community Development Department is seeking a part-time Permit Technician to support processing, routing, and issuance of building permits under supervision of the Chief Building Official.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, guide them through permit requirements, collect fees, and coordinate plan reviews and inspections while maintaining records in compliance with GRAMA.

Description: Under the direct supervision of the Chief Building Official, the Permit Technician performs technical, clerical, customer service, and departmental support duties related to the processing, routing, tracking, and issuance of building permits.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must understand basic principles, terminology, and procedures related to building permits, constructions principles, zoning regulations, and applicable building codes, alongside a working knowledge of public records management and GRAMA procedures. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, permit management software, and basic financial tasks such as fee collections and reconciliation. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently within established guidelines, and the capacity to build effective relationships with staff, contractors, and the public.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for extended periods of time. This job requires a significant amount of time at a computer screen and using a keyboard for data entry. May occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
