Town of San Tan Valley is seeking an experienced administrative professional to process building permits, planning and zoning permits, and related licenses. You will interact with applicants at the counter, by phone, and via email to guide submittals, fees, timelines, and compliance.
The role requires an Associate’s Degree and about two years in building, planning, or a related field, with familiarity in electronic permitting software and recordkeeping.
This position is open on a continuous basis. The first review of applications will begin the week of September 21, 2026, with subsequent reviews conducted weekly. The posting may close at any time after the first review.

Positions assigned to this class are responsible for providing technical information to customers including interpretation of Town codes, ordinances, policies relating to setbacks, zoning, etc. and conducting plan review verification on permit submittals for accuracy and completion.
This is a fully qualified, experienced level administrative classification in the management support and analysis job family. Incumbent(s) performs the full range of support duties under general supervision. Classification requires solid knowledge of transactional and/or work standards for completing tasks and assignments of a varied nature. Work may vary from basic to more complex duties and issues but are generally within expected parameters.

Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years of experience in building, engineering, architecture, planning, or a related field; experience; Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential duties of the position may be considered
