The Town of San Tan Valley (AZ) seeks a lead-level accounting professional to oversee financial transactions within a designated area. You will supervise staff in reconciling accounts, processing payroll, managing vendor records, and handling accounts payable and journal entries.

Positions assigned to this class are responsible for performing, leading, and overseeing the work of staff involved in monitoring, providing oversight, and conducting reconciliation and/or correction for financial transactions within their designated area of responsibility.
This is a lead level classification in the financial services job family. Incumbent(s) perform the full range of fiscal support duties under general supervision. The classification necessitates a solid understanding of transactional and/or work standards for completing tasks and assignments of various nature. Work may encompass a spectrum from basic to more complex duties and issues but generally falls within expected parameters.
The following are intended to describe core work functions of this classification. While the level and broad nature of essential duties may not change, specific work tasks will vary over time depending on the Town's needs.
Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field and 2 years of experience in financial services, banking, accounting. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential duties of the position may be considered.
Depending on assignment, identified incumbents cannot be on the Office of Inspector General (OIG) list of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). These incumbents will be subject to regular LEIE screenings as a condition of continued employment
Social Security Replacement Plan: The Town of San Tan Valley does not participate in Social Security. In lieu of Social Security, eligible employees participate in the Town's 401(a) Social Security Replacement Plan, administered by Nationwide. The Town contributes 6.2% of eligible compensation to the plan, while employees are required to contribute 1.3% of eligible compensation.
