City of Irving in Irving, TX is seeking a Permit Clerk in the Inspections Department to issue building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical permits, review plans for fences and signs, and coordinate with other departments on plan reviews and utilities services.
The position requires a high school diploma and two years of customer service experience; bilingual English/Spanish skills are beneficial. The role includes phone support and clerical tasks.
Duties include issuing building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits; reviewing plans for fences, signs, etc.; conferring with other departments in regard to plan review, permit issuance and utilities services; conducting research; maintaining related databases, records and files; and handling requests for information and complaints pertaining to permits, code/zoning and certificates of occupancy. Duties also include answering the phone and assisting with other general clerical tasks. A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of customer service experience are required; building methods blueprint reading experience beneficial. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills beneficial.
PAY GRADE GG12 / FULL PAY RANGE $19.80 - $27.92 PER HOUR
