Job summary

Tuff Shed, Inc. is seeking a Permit Technician to join our team in Fairfield, NJ. You will act as the liaison with local building departments to secure permits and ensure regulatory compliance, while coordinating with Sales and customers to meet jurisdiction requirements.

You will prepare permit documents, track progress, and schedule on-site inspections, contributing to efficient project delivery. Strong communication and CRM/software skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain permits and support building departments.
• Experience with permit processes and inspections.
• Proficient with MS Office and CRM tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with clerical accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with building departments and officials as liaison between Tuff Shed and the departments.
• Communicate all required changes to Salesperson and Customer to meet jurisdictional requirements.
• Work with local jurisdictions to resolve issues related to permit issuance; attend meetings or hearings as needed.
• Prepare documents for permits, including plot plans and drawings.
• Track permit progress through planning and building departments; schedule inspections and update tracking tools.
