Job summary

Pasco County is seeking a Permitting Technician I to handle clerical, technical, and customer service tasks related to permit applications for development projects. You will respond to inquiries via phone, in person, and online, and assist with questions about permits, fees, and procedures.

The ideal candidate has high school graduation and at least one year of experience in regulatory services or customer service with public contact, plus familiarity with construction-related documentation.

Qualifications

• General office practices and customer service experience are required.
• Ability to use computer systems to research reference files and enter data.
• Familiarity with regulatory services related to permitting and inspections is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review permit applications for completeness and accuracy.
• Provide information on procedures, regulations, fees, and permits to applicants.
• Determine permits required for proposed construction activities and identify responsible reviews.
• Process monetary transactions and balance monies, maintain files and records.
• Assist citizens with inquiries, complaints, and account information.
