Job summary

HealthForce Healthcare in Irving, TX seeks an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for permanent night shift. You will provide patient-centered care to mothers and infants through labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.

The ideal candidate has ADN or BSN, active TX RN license, and 1.5+ years in L&D/Antepartum. BLS/ACLS/NRP and AWHONN fetal monitoring certification are required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Active RN license (TX or Compact State).
• Minimum 1.5 years L&D or Antepartum RN experience.
• BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications required.
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required within 30 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients during labor, delivery, and recovery.
• Monitor fetal heart patterns and maternal vitals; initiate interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists and teams to ensure outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery options, and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and promote a safety-focused culture.

Location: Irving, TX

Pay Rate: $32.00 – $53.00 per hour (based on experience) + Shift Differential

Bonus Potential: Up to $7,500 Sign-On Bonus for eligible external candidates (2+ years RN experience) | Relocation assistance available (50+ miles)

Schedule: Permanent Full-Time | Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a permanent night shift position in Irving, TX. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to mothers and infants through high-stakes labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
• Monitor, interpret, and document fetal heart patterns and maternal vital signs, initiating appropriate interventions immediately as needed
• Collaborate closely with obstetricians, neonatologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal maternal-fetal outcomes
• Educate patients and family members on the labor process, delivery options, and early postnatal/newborn care
• Support and advocate for a unit-wide culture of safety, maintaining meticulous and compliant EHR documentation

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN)
• Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or Compact State)
• Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of L&D or Antepartum RN experience (Level II or higher facility experience preferred)
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Specialized Training: AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (required within 30 days of hire/transfer)
