Job summary

Farmington Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Professional Development Substitute for the 2026-2027 school year at West Woods Upper Elementary School. This position supports grades 5-6 and may substitute in other elementary schools within the district.

The daily pay rate is $144, with hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm on school days. All Permanent PD Substitutes are guaranteed an assignment on days school is in session, with assignments made based on location of Teacher Professional Development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
• Ability to manage a classroom and adapt to a variety of teaching situations.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
• Manage the classroom by maintaining student behavior and enforcing school rules and policies.
• Deliver instructional material in a clear, engaging, and effective manner.
• Provide supervision for students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times as needed.
• Address and support the individual needs of students, providing additional guidance or assistance when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents when necessary.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
• Report any issues or concerns to the regular teacher or principal.
