Job summary

Red Sandstone Elementary School in Colorado is seeking a Permanent Guest Teacher to provide consistent instructional support as a building-based substitute. You will implement lesson plans, maintain a structured learning environment, and ensure continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

The role focuses on supporting student learning across grade levels and subjects, building positive relationships with students and staff, and collaborating with school personnel

Qualifications

• Valid Colorado Teaching License or Substitute Authorization required.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms, grade levels, and subject areas.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and flexibility in a dynamic school environment.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Delivery: Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher.
• Instructional Delivery: Carry out assigned classroom responsibilities, schedules, and routines.
• Instructional Delivery: Adapt instruction as needed to support diverse learners.
• Classroom Management: Promote and maintain positive student behavior expectations.
• Classroom Management: Establish a structured, safe, and productive learning environment.
• Classroom Management: Maximize instructional time and student engagement.
• Assessment & Reporting: Assess student work when appropriate.
• Assessment & Reporting: Prepare a summary of the day’s instruction and classroom activities for the regular teacher.
• Assessment & Reporting: Complete required Guest Teacher report forms.
• Communication & Collaboration: Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Communication & Collaboration: Collaborate with school staff to support continuity of instruction.
• Communication & Collaboration: Maintain confidentiality of all student information.
• Professional Responsibilities: Follow all district and school policies and procedures.
• Professional Responsibilities: Utilize the Substitute Absence Management system (Red Rover) as required.
• Professional Responsibilities: Report to assigned locations and duties as scheduled.
