Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on each resident’s clinical needs and goals.
• Provide skilled speech-language therapy and monitor progress throughout treatment.
• Address dysphagia and swallowing safety through appropriate assessment and intervention.
• Provide cognitive‑communication and language therapy when clinically indicated.
• Educate residents, families, caregivers, and staff regarding communication and swallowing strategies.
• Collaborate with nursing, dietary, therapy, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in care planning and discharge planning as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Adjust treatment approaches based on resident response and progress.
• Advocate for resident safety, independence, and quality of life.
