Job summary

H.E.B. is seeking a Perishable Representative to maintain a well-stocked, clean, and safe department while delivering outstanding customer service. You will prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily, ensure rotation and labeling, and assist customers with selections.

You will work in a fast-paced retail environment, follow food safety standards, operate department equipment, and support various sections within Perishable, Floral, Market, Produce, Seafood as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service
• Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
• Answer customer questions regarding products and assist with selections
• Prepare, package, and merchandize fresh product
• Slice, package, label, rotate products
• Scan items on Telxon for production
• Assist in technical areas as needed
• Merchandise product effectively
• Use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and increase sales
• Makes regular announcements related to freshly-produced items to increase sales
• Clean and sanitize display cases; operate equipment
• Comply with food safety and sanitation standards
