Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a team member for the Perishable Department to provide quality customer service, maintain standards, and maximize sales through attentive service. You will handle deliveries, stocking, and ensure product levels across meat, dairy, and frozen sections while following safety guidelines.

Role requires strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and ability to follow procedures. Physical duties include standing, lifting, and working with varied temperatures; uniform and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Courteous and helpful to other associates
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store merchandise
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise meets policies and guidelines
• Maintain proper product levels in Perishable Department (meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, ice cream)
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat case as requested
• Assemble, disassemble, and clean the grinder as requested
• Clean and sanitize the department
• Maintain layout standards and adhere to guidelines
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines
• Report accidents per procedures to Manager on Duty
• Ensure compliance with local/state/federal regulations
• Wear uniform with apron and name badge
• Complete CBT and training packets
• Perform other duties as assigned
