Job summary

In this role you will assist the Store Manager with inventory control, perishable markdowns, and staff training, while ensuring compliance with sanitation and food-handling regulations.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions.
• Perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Learn and perform cash register functions and generate reports.
• Review operating statements for trends, profitability and shrinkage.
• Know cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Understand inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Follow SOPs, employee handbook, and company communications.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using ads, planners, and order guides.
• Train associates in freshness, pricing standards, and safe handling of perishable items.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Ensure customers' needs and requests are addressed promptly and professionally.
• Assist with sanitation standards and training in perishable departments.
• Support other operational areas as directed by the Store Manager.
